Kentucky Business Loans
Kentucky mixes large auto assembly plants, air-cargo hubs in Louisville and Northern Kentucky, and a bourbon industry whose product ages for years before it earns a dollar. SMB Compass works with Kentucky suppliers, carriers, distillers and service firms to structure equipment, purchase order, receivables and SBA financing sized to those long cash cycles. KSBCI’s credit programs sit alongside a conventional lender rather than replacing one, and our team can walk you through how that works.
Business financing in Kentucky
SMB Compass provides financing for established businesses from $25,000 to $5 million, with funding in as little as 24 hours. Applying takes a few minutes and won’t affect your credit score.

Financing for Kentucky industries
Where we see the most demand for business financing in Kentucky.
Automotive supply and manufacturing
Tier 2 and Tier 3 suppliers feeding Kentucky’s assembly plants have to buy steel, resin and components and run production before automakers pay on 45- to 60-day terms. Purchase order financing and asset-based lines keep production funded, and equipment financing covers the presses and robotics that new model launches require.
Manufacturing is Kentucky’s third-largest small business employer, with 74,494 small business employees. (source)
Common fits: Purchase Order Financing · Asset-Based Loans · Equipment Financing
Logistics and air cargo
Air-cargo hubs in Louisville and Northern Kentucky support trucking, courier and warehousing firms that pay drivers and fuel weekly, while shippers pay on 30 days or longer. Invoice financing turns those receivables into cash, and equipment financing helps add vans, tractors and material-handling equipment as volume grows.
Common fits: Invoice Financing · Equipment Financing · Business Line of Credit
Distilling, food and beverage
Kentucky distillers and craft beverage makers spend on grain, barrels and warehousing years before aged product sells, and restaurants and food producers carry their own ingredient and equipment costs. Term and SBA loans can fund facilities and equipment, and some lenders offer inventory-based financing against eligible finished goods or barrel stock.
Accommodation and food services is Kentucky’s largest small business employer, with 105,644 small business employees. (source)

FAQ
Kentucky business loan questions
What is KSBCI and how do Kentucky businesses use it?
The Kentucky Small Business Credit Initiative is the state’s SSBCI 2.0 program, run by KY Innovation within the Cabinet for Economic Development, with $117 million to deploy over 10 years. About 30 percent supports collateral support and loan participation through participating lenders, and the rest goes to venture capital. It does not offer grants or forgivable loans.
Which Kentucky SBDC office is closest to me?
The Kentucky SBDC has 12 regional offices, from Paducah and Owensboro in the west to Covington, Maysville and Southeastern Kentucky in the east. Each offers no-cost, confidential coaching on financial projections and lender-ready documents.
Does Kentucky have more than one SBA district office?
No. A single SBA district office, at 600 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Place in Louisville, serves all 120 Kentucky counties. It handles SBA lender referrals, contracting certifications and disaster recovery questions statewide.
Can a Kentucky distillery finance aging bourbon inventory?
Some lenders will lend against barrel inventory, but terms depend on the brand, the age and appraised value of the barrels, and how the spirits will be sold. Many distilleries combine term or SBA financing for facilities with a separate inventory facility, and SMB Compass reviews each situation individually.
