California Business Loans
California has 4.3 million small businesses, and financing here has an extra step: under SB 1235, a provider must give standardized cost disclosures, including an annualized rate, before a business accepts an offer. SMB Compass provides SBA loans, equipment financing, receivables financing and lines of credit for California owners, from Central Valley growers and packers to Los Angeles restaurants and Bay Area professional firms. Before anything is signed, we go through the disclosures with the client so the cost of each option is easy to compare.
Business financing in California

Financing for California industries
Where we see the most demand for business financing in California.
Agriculture and food processing
Growers, packers and processors in the Central Valley and Salinas Valley pay for seed, water, labor and harvest months before the crop is sold, and buyers often pay on terms after delivery. Equipment financing for tractors and processing lines, a seasonal line of credit, and inventory financing against stored product keep operations running between planting and payment.
Common fits: Equipment Financing · Business Line of Credit · Inventory Financing
Professional and technical services
California’s engineering, consulting, design and tech-services firms bill on 30- to 90-day terms while carrying expensive payroll every two weeks. A line of credit or financing against client invoices covers that lag, and SBA loans are a common route for buying out a partner or acquiring a competing firm.
Professional, scientific and technical services employ 805,645 people at California small businesses. (source)
Common fits: Business Line of Credit · Invoice Financing · SBA Loans
Restaurants and food service
Food service is California’s largest small business employer, and operators face high rents and labor costs on thin margins. Equipment financing spreads the cost of kitchen buildouts, SBA loans can fund a second location or leasehold improvements, and a modest line of credit absorbs slow months.
Accommodation and food services employs 1,110,793 people at California small businesses. (source)
